COAT OF ARMS
Originally granted in 1661 and designed by Archbishop of Canterbury, William Sandcroft. A male and female Arawak standing on either side of a shield which bears a red cross with five golden pineapples (which are indigenous to Jamaica). The cress is a Jamaican crocodile surmounting the Royal Helmet and mantlings. The motto at the base reads: 'Out of many, one people'.
